I was asked to produce a piece of work to celebrate 150 years of the Birmingham Royal institute for the blind. I created a collograph plate out of materials that would have been made or used by the residents of BRIB, Wicker, straw, string bristles from floor brushes and very textured fabrics, The image was inspired by the patterns that occur in the eyes of people with sight loss.
I displayed the collograph plate for people to touch and a very faded patchy print because
this is how I see the world as a partially sighted person.
