DYCP Reflections 2024

This is a 30ft multi layered hand printed silkscreen print on cotton drill. Completely different to printing on the chiffon. Even though chiffon is a nightmare to work with, i love how the ink responds to the fabric and the ways it falls. These are just a few examples of what I created. It was such a pleasure having the time and space to create large scale prints @printclan This piece was inspired by a period of my sight loss in 2021 when all I saw was shades of blue and to me the world looked so beautiful.

I now have to find a place to display my large works!

DYCP Arts Council 2024 June

As I reflect back on my DYCP funded year, I look at my return trip to the fantastic city of Glasgow in June.

My aim was to increase the scale of my work, here I am working on a 30ft prints. Because the screens were so large and it's all hand printed it needed myself & @poppy_nash_ at either end of the screen, we had to be in sync when printing and passing the squeegee to each other, exhausting but so much fun and a great new skill to have learnt. It was wonderful to have @printclan studio to ourselves in June enabling me to create such large works. I will miss having this studio to work in and there is nothing like it near me.
